Suggestion for a trap, get an old style milk bottle, drop a small chunk of chocolate in the bottom (they prefer it to cheese,) then put it on its side (but slightly propped up) near the sighting. The mouse will climb in to get the chocolate but be unable to get out due to a lack of grip on the glass.
Then let it free away from your house, sorted
